Stainless Steel 348H is an austenitic alloy that contains 17–20% chromium, 8–11% nickel, along with columbium and tantalum stabilizers. Its higher carbon content (0.04–0.10%) boosts its creep strength and performance at high temperatures. This grade is known for its excellent resistance to intergranular corrosion, even after welding or extended exposure to high temperatures. In terms of mechanical properties, it has a tensile strength of about 75,000 psi and a yield strength of 30,000 psi, along with good elongation and toughness. 348H maintains its structural stability and oxidation resistance in environments reaching up to 1600°F (870°C), making it suitable for demanding thermal and pressure applications.
