Monel K500 Foils (UNS N05500) consist primarily of nickel (63–70%) and copper (27–33%), with traces of aluminum (2.3–3.1%) and titanium (0.35–0.85%). Trace amounts of iron (up to 2.5%), manganese (1.5%), and silicon (0.5%) are present as well. This blend improves the mechanical strength as well as corrosion resistance of the alloy. The foils have a tensile strength of 860–1035 MPa, yield strength of 550 MPa, and elongation of around 35%, providing excellent stress corrosion cracking, pitting, and oxidation resistance, particularly in marine and high-temperature environments.
