Monel Sheets and Plates are mainly made of 63% nickel, 28–34% copper, with impurities of iron (2.5%), manganese (2%), carbon (0.3%), and silicon (0.5%). Such alloy composition offers superior seawater, acid, and alkali resistance, which makes it suitable for hostile environments. Major mechanical characteristics are tensile strength of 485–585 MPa (70–85 ksi), yield strength of 205 MPa (30 ksi), and elongation of 40% on 2 inches. Due to a Brinell hardness of around 200, Monel Sheets and Plates provide hardness, stress corrosion cracking resistance, and high structural integrity in harsh environments.
