The composition of Stainless Steel 316L Sheets and Plates includes Chromium (16–18%), Nickel (10–14%), Molybdenum (2–3%), and a low Carbon content (maximum 0.03%). This unique blend provides exceptional resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and general corrosion in environments rich in chlorides. The alloy boasts a tensile strength of approximately 485 MPa, a yield strength of 170 MPa, and an elongation of around 40%. The lower carbon content enhances weldability without sacrificing strength, making 316L an excellent choice for critical fabrication tasks.
