SMO 254 Foils (UNS S31254) are made from a highly alloyed austenitic stainless steel with excellent pitting, crevice corrosion, and chloride stress corrosion cracking resistance. The chemical composition consists of approximately 25% Chromium, 20% Nickel, 6% Molybdenum, and small traces of Nitrogen, Manganese, and Silicon. These components improve the alloy‘s performance in hostile environments. The foils provide tensile strength of 650–850 MPa, yield strength of 290 MPa, elongation of 40%, and Brinell hardness of 200–250 HB. These characteristics make them compatible for hostile industrial applications.
