Hastelloy C276 is a nickel-molybdenum-chromium alloy that also contains iron and tungsten. Its typical makeup features around 57% nickel, 16% molybdenum, 15.5% chromium, 5% iron, along with trace amounts of cobalt and tungsten. This alloy is celebrated for its exceptional corrosion resistance across a range of harsh environments, including strong oxidizers, chlorides, and acidic solutions like hydrochloric and sulfuric acid. In terms of mechanical properties, it boasts a tensile strength of 690–785 MPa, a yield strength of about 280–355 MPa, and impressive elongation, which provides both strength and flexibility under pressure and at elevated temperatures.
