Hastelloy X is a nickel-chromium-iron-molybdenum alloy that contains about 47% nickel, 22% chromium, 18.5% iron, and 9% molybdenum, along with trace amounts of cobalt and tungsten. This alloy is celebrated for its remarkable oxidation resistance up to 1200°C (2200°F) and its excellent fabricability. Its mechanical properties include a tensile strength ranging from 750 to 850 MPa, a yield strength of around 300 to 400 MPa, and good ductility, making it perfect for forming and welding. It maintains its structural integrity even under prolonged high-temperature service and is resistant to stress and thermal fatigue.
