Hastelloy B2 is a nickel-molybdenum alloy that consists of about 69% nickel, 28–30% molybdenum, along with trace amounts of iron, cobalt, and chromium. This unique composition provides remarkable resistance to hydrochloric acid at all concentrations and temperatures, as well as to other potent reducing agents. In terms of mechanical properties, it boasts a tensile strength of 760–870 MPa, a yield strength of around 350–400 MPa, and impressive ductility. Additionally, Hastelloy B2 shows excellent thermal stability and is resistant to stress corrosion cracking, pitting, and crevice corrosion.
