Super Duplex Steel Sheets and Plates have a rough estimate of 50/50 austenitic and ferritic microstructure, which provides the best of both worlds in terms of strength and toughness. The main alloying constituents are chromium (19–28%), nickel (4–7%), molybdenum (2–3%), and addition of nitrogen, copper, and tungsten for better performance. These plates provide tensile strength of 620–850 MPa, yield strength of 450–600 MPa, and elongation up to 25%. The alloy has excellent pitting resistance, crevice corrosion resistance, and stress corrosion cracking resistance and can be used in highly corrosive and high-pressure environments.
