Alloy Steel Gr 22 Sheets and Plates consist mainly of Chromium (2.00–2.50%) and Molybdenum (0.90–1.10%), with controlled percentages of Carbon, Manganese, Silicon, Sulfur, and Phosphorus. It provides superb oxidation and corrosion resistance when it is at high temperatures. Mechanically, Gr 22 provides a minimum tensile strength of 415 MPa, yield strength of 205 MPa, and elongation of a minimum of 20%. It is particularly prized for its creep resistance, thermal stability, and toughness, for which it is suited for heavy industrial applications at high temperature and high pressures.
