Aluminium 1050 has ≥99.5% aluminum, iron, silicon, and other trace elements in small percentages. It has a tensile strength of ~15–20 ksi, yield strength of about 5–8 ksi, and elongation ≥25%, subject to temper (e.g., H14, O). This alloy possesses superior thermal conductivity, electrical conductivity, and exceptional corrosion resistance. Since it is non-heat-treatable, it‘s usually cold worked for adjustments in strength. The material is extremely ductile and best suited for forming operations. 1050 also has excellent polishability and smoothness on the surface, thus becoming a choice in reflective and decorative surface usage.
